An oil painting of a garden gate in France by fine arts painter Cynthia Perryman has been chosen by designer Michel Smith Boyd of SmithBoyd Interiors to be included in the vignette he is creating for Dwell With Dignity’s signature fundraiser, Thrift Studio.

Boyd, along with other Atlanta designers, will create “shoppable vignettes” where patrons can purchase discounted decorative items chosen by each designer, with proceeds supporting Dwell With Dignity’s mission of providing families in need with beautiful and nourishing homes. The month-long pop-up shop will be held at ADAC (351 Peachtree Hills Ave., NE, Suite 403, Atlanta, GA 30305) beginning with a preview party Sept. 29 and continuing through Oct. 29.

“I am delighted to have been introduced to Cindy recently and to see some of her beautiful work,” said Boyd. “The painting I selected for my vignette, ‘Garden Gate, France’, has both a softness and elegance about it, and makes the viewer wonder what’s behind the gate.”

“I love painting gates, doors, alleyways and paths,” said Perryman. “These architectural and landscape elements always intrigue me, holding the promise of something unseen and wonderful. I was thrilled when Michel chose the piece for his vignette and am delighted to donate it to Dwell With Dignity for the fundraiser.”

Perryman is a familiar member of Atlanta’s arts community as the long-time owner of Vista Gallery in Decatur. She sold the gallery a few years ago so she could concentrate on her landscape and still life oil paintings. Perryman also teaches art, and takes groups of adult students on painting trips to Europe periodically. www.cynthiaperrymanart.com.
