Gearing up for their second season kicking off in January 2025, the Atlanta Vibe is one of eight teams across the country competing in the Pro Volleyball Federation. Dedicated to showcasing elite women’s volleyball talent, as Atlanta’s professional women’s indoor volleyball team and the city’s second fully professional women’s sports team, the Vibe continues to build a legacy in women’s sports.
The Vibe’s 28-match season, kicks off with their first game on the road on January 10, leading up to their home opener at Gas South Arena on January 16. This season will see the return of league MVP, Leah Edmond, as well as Libero of the Year (or best defensive player), Morgan Hentz. In the recent draft on November 25, Atlanta added five draftees from college programs, including No. 1 draft pick, Merritt Beason, from final-four bound program Nebraska.
According to Head Coach Kayla Banwarth, “The overall experience of a Vibe match can be described in three words: passionate, energizing, and fun! The atmosphere of the matches is super invigorating. There is no doubt you will have an absolute blast watching the best volleyball in America!”
Volleyball is currently the fastest growing sport in the U.S., giving our vibrant city an opportunity to invest in a pro volleyball team. Gas South Arena holds up to 13,000 fans, giving the Vibe a tremendous amount of space to show off such a high-level professional team.
When asked about game chants, Anna Porter, Vibe Communications Manager, shares, “We love our fans cheering at matches as they truly create a thrilling environment. We have the classic A! T! L! chant. Another great one is at set point, when the Vibe only needs one more point to win the set, the fans hold up an ‛A’ with their fingers (middle and pointer finger faced down) and when the Vibe wins the set, the flip it to be a ‛V.’”

THE VIBE’S LIBERO MORGAN HENTZ OFFERS HEALTH & WELLNESS TIPS
When asked about recommending mindfulness tips, player Morgan Hentz shares on the Vibe’s Instagram channel her own practices of journaling, stretching, drinking tea, and reading a book to unwind. She also recommends yoga for mindfulness and self-reflection.
For fueling on game days, Hentz starts the morning with a bagel, fruits such as berries, and cottage cheese for some protein. She drinks chai tea latte with almond milk and a little added collagen. Hentz stays hydrated with Liquid IVs or Body Armor. Before the match during the Vibe’s pre-game meal, she recommends something with a good source of protein like a chicken sandwich. Equally as important is how you fuel after the match. She typically does some sort of protein shake and when they get a win, Hentz sometimes likes to go to Waffle House for some fun.
