Gwinnett County Public Library recently announced its first annual Student Film Fest for the 2022-2023 school year. Middle school, high school, and higher education students are invited to submit their own films of any genre, and winners in each category will receive awards and cash prizes. Submissions open on November 1, 2022, and will be accepted from students of any qualifying institution worldwide, but a representee must be able to attend the awards ceremony for their film to be eligible for prizes. Submissions close on January 22, 2023.
The festival will take place on March 11, 2023, at Gwinnett County Public Library at 3180 Main St. in Duluth, and will feature film screenings, an awards ceremony, and an after-party with opportunities to network with film industry professionals. Award categories include Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing, among others. For a full list of rules and regulations, visit GwinnettPL.org.
