In early April, the NGHS Robotics team competed in the Peachtree District Championship and came home with their third blue banner of the season. The team battled their way to the top and seeded first place. They also beat the world record high score twice and made the first perfect autonomous score of the season. They advanced to the semi-finals, finishing eighth in their division and won the autonomous award at the first Robotics World Championship in Houston, which took place April 17-20.

The competition involves building industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams under strict rules, and with limited time and resources. The team usually has eight weeks to brainstorm, prototype, design, manufacture, assemble, program, tune, and train drivers on the robot they create.

NGHS Robotics team is ranked fifth in the world out of close to 3,500 teams. For more information, visit NorthGwinnettRobotics.com.
