The North Gwinnett Co-Op has been serving those in need in our community since 1991. Through community partnerships and the incredible efforts of the Co-Op, 2024 was another remarkable year in aiding more families than ever that need assistance. They provide food to qualifying families and individuals in need, help with utilities and finances, offer spiritual support, and coordinate holiday programs to make a difference in the Buford, Suwanee and Sugar Hill communities, in addition to the Gwinnett portions of Auburn, Bethlehem, Braselton and Hoschton.
The North Gwinnett Co-Op finished the holiday season with resounding support in the form of donations and volunteer efforts. Their Thanksgiving and Christmas programs are focused on sponsoring both children and senior citizens, and supplying food to families in need through corporate and individual donations, as well as partnerships with other nonprofits, schools, and companies such as Publix, Lettum Eat!, and Honey Baked Ham. Another commitment the Co-Op proudly takes on is their Susan Roebuck Santa Shop — a store within the Co-Op that turns new, donated toys into free or very low-cost gifts for deserving clients where the parent(s) are allowed to select a certain amount of toys per child in their family, enabling them to make Christmas morning special regardless of their circumstances. This year, the Co-Op also sponsored hundreds of children in North Carolina and Tennessee who were affected by hurricane Helene. Their dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly, especially around the holidays, to give joy and hope to those in need.
