The North Gwinnett Air Rifle team participated in the state playoffs in February, coming in 5th place out of 17 teams. Several team members qualified for CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) regionals, with one student, Amy Filippone, winning gold in ROTC regionals and shooting at nationals in Ohio in March. Filippone was named North Gwinnett Student of the Year as well as Gwinnett County Student of the Year. Students Henry Sparra, Logan Borneman and Cameron Preston also qualified and participated in Junior Olympics in Colorado in April. They were able to train and compete at the same venue the Olympians train at.
