On Tuesday, September 26th, golfers will head to The River Club for the 3rd annual Cooper O’Brien Memorial Golf Tournament. Golf will be in scramble format and the event will also include a putting contest, family friendly dinner, awards ceremony, music and silent auction at the River Club Lodge. The tournament is organized by Cooper’s Crew, a 501c3 formed in memory and honor of Cooper O’Brien, a North Gwinnett Middle School student who lost his battle to cancer in 2014 at the young age of 14. To date, the Cooper O’Brien Scholarship Fund has donated over $25,000 in the form of scholarships for other students who have shown great strength in the face of hardships. They are also dedicated to providing funding for research and development to help find a cure for childhood cancer. Cooper’s Crew has partnered with CURE Childhood Cancer to help fund research projects specific to Sarcoma cancers. All proceeds from this event go directly to the Cooper’s Crew Fund and the Cooper O’Brien Scholarship Fund. To hear Cooper’s story, or to register for or sponsor the tournament, visit cooperscrew.org.
