The Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TCP Sugarloaf took place from April 10-16, 2017. Three celebrities played in the Celebrity Challenge on Saturday, April 15th. Each celebrity played for a charity of their choice: John Smoltz for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), Tom Glavine for CURE Childhood Cancer and Kevin Butler for Cooper’s Crew. Former UGA and NFL football player, Kevin Butler, formed a relationship with the O’Briens when Cooper played alongside him on the winning team in 2014. Today, in addition to competing for a donation to a charity of their choice, the celebrities are vying for the coveted Cooper’s Cup – a trophy created in memory of Cooper O’Brien. This year John Smoltz won for CHOA, but the O’Briens are grateful for the awareness it brought to Cooper’s Crew and for the tournament’s dedication to commemorating Cooper and his legacy.
