Greater Atlanta Christian School senior named as a First Team Academic All American

Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) graduating senior and superstar volleyball player, Cienna Townson recorded 766 assists, 222 digs and 60 aces and earned All-State honors for the second straight season. The school career assist leader led GAC to the state quarterfinals in her three years as a starter. Academically, she has a 4.37 GPA on a 4.33 scale and scored 1500 on her SAT. A National Merit Commended Scholar, Townson worked on a Nicaragua Mission Team for two years with the goal of helping villages receive clean drinking water. She recently received the Girl Scouts Gold Award, given to only 5.4% of all scouts. She is passionate about recycling and taking care of the environment and created a board game called Trash It or Recycle It. “Cienna is the heart of our team, biggest encourager, most excellent athlete and top student,” said Coach, Kristy Shelton. Cienna has been accepted into the prestigious Ervin Scholar Program at Washington University in St. Louis.
