Kevin and Donna O’Brien of Suwanee received one of three signed proclamations from Governor Nathan Deal, officially stating September as Childhood Cancer Month in the State of Georgia. The O’Brien’s tragically lost their oldest son, Cooper O’Brien, to Clear Cell Sarcoma Cancer last year and were instrumental in advocating for ‘Senate Resolution 492’ – a resolution recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The Resolution’s stated objective is: “To put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children and survivorship issues and to help raise funds for research and family support because a diagnosis of childhood cancer turns the lives of the entire family upside down.” To learn more how you can assist the O’Brien’s in their efforts to make a difference in the lives of other families fighting against cancer, please visit cooperscrew.com.
