6-year-old, Braden Boozer is a courageous boy battling Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer, for the second time. The Sixth Annual ‘Ansley’s Easter’ at Friends American Grill Dacula Raises Money to Help ‘Braden’s Fight’

On Easter Sunday, Friends American Grill in Dacula invites the public to a free Easter Buffet. All donations and proceeds will benefit Braden Boozer and his family. The event will include bounce houses, face painting, an Easter Egg hunt as well as other activities. Braden is a young boy battling Neuroblastoma. At the age of two, Braden was diagnosed and underwent treatment only to find that the chemotherapy was unresponsive. The options they were given were surgery or high intensity chemo. After consulting with the surgeon and much prayer, the family decided to do the surgery. The day before the surgery, Braden’s mother requested another scan just to be sure surgery was the right choice. Miraculously, the scan showed the tumor was turning benign on it’s own. God had answered their prayers and healed Braden.

Nearly three years later, in July of 2015, Braden’s cancer returned and was more malignant than it had ever been. Treatments began in August 2015. After four rounds of chemo, scans showed the tumor had increased in size. The family was referred to a new Antibody/Chemo combination. The trial had just ended in October and it was now available for other patients. They began the new therapy in November and after just two rounds, Braden’s tumor had reduced drastically. However, their fight continues. Braden will continue to receive treatments until the doctors are sure the cancer is gone.

Contributing to the community and providing a helping hand to others when we are able to do so is part of the fiber of Friends American Grill. The annual charity event, “Ansley’s Easter,” is named after Ansley Arnette, a young girl that suffered from a rare, non-curable brain tumor. The first fundraiser was held to help her family with medical bills. Ansley has since passed away, but her memory and spirit carries on every year at Friends on Easter Sunday.
