Th North Gwinnett Co-op is so much more than just a community food bank. In addition to food distribution, the local institution offers tutoring services, adult education courses, and medication and utilities payment assistance. In October 2019, the co-op expanded 14,000 square feet, just in time to serve the highest number of people in the community in its history. This year, the faith-based nonprofit celebrates 30 years in business and is helping our community in more ways than ever. In 2019 the co-op distributed 171,953 pounds of food, and the following year in 2020, that number more than doubled with the co-op distributing 544,725 pounds of food. Last year, the co-op also distributed $39,125 in medication assistance to 562 households. During the recent holidays, they delivered meal boxes and seniors gifts to 200 seniors, sponsored 551 children with gifts, and gifted more than $25,000 in gift cards. This year the co-op will make an even bigger impact on the community when its Second Blessings Thrift Store opens in late spring. The North Gwinnett Co-op is located at 4395 Commerce Drive in Buford.
